Mark Talbot - Head of Comedy Development

Mark Talbot is a BAFTA award winning producer and Head of Comedy Development at Hat Trick.

After starting life at Hat Trick as the office runner, once the art of tidying the stationery cupboard and making tea was mastered he advanced to production runner on Have I Got News For You (BBC1). After a year at Objective Productions as a runner and writer he returned to Hat Trick to work as the Assistant to the Head of Comedy before becoming a Development Producer.

He was named a Broadcast Hotshot in 2011, and in 2013 he produced the comedy The Revolution Will Be Televised (BBC3), winning a BAFTA award for Best Comedy. Series two was nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Comedy and Comedy Entertainment, and overall the show had collected various awards and nominations. He has and has gone on to create, develop, produce and EP shows for U.K. and U.S. broadcasters,

Since 2000 he has written and performed comedy and his live comedy night Sabotage, which has been running in London since 2006, has enjoyed two successful series on Radio4. He has performed at the Edinburgh festival and continues to write and perform stand up and one man shows.

As Head of Comedy Development he manages the development team, focusing on new opportunities in the UK, USA and VoD markets. He continues to create, develop, produce and Executive Produce shows for Hat Trick, his most recent credits include the Rose D'Or nominated comedy Brexaggedon?! (BBC2), a one off comedy special about Brexit; and satirical sketch show Revolting (BBC2).
