A comedy about group of quirky 16-year-old girls who live on the same inner city estate.
The series follows the lives and loves of our fierce foursome as the end of the term is in sight and they continue their painful and hilarious journey through both home and sixth form life at Greenshoots Academy. The four best friends – Viva (Adelayo Adedayo, Gone Too Far, Sket), Holli (Natasha Jonas, One Night In Istanbul, Attack The Block), Amber (Alice Felgate, You, Me & Them, Side By Side) and Saz (Mandeep Dhillon, Whitechapel, 24: Live Another Day) – approach the end of their time at Greenshoots. But plenty of adventures still lie ahead: all the excitement of their first music festival, romantic entanglements, the school prom and even the prospect that their school may be chosen to feature in a television documentary. What's more they need to find time to revise for exams, play a bit of football and hang out at Viva's house eating pizza.
Jimmy Mulville, Managing Director, Hat Trick Productions, says: Some Girls is brilliantly written and beautifully acted comedy. It's laugh-out-loud, funny and touchingly honest. Bernadette Davis is a writer at the top of her game and I'd be surprised if some of this cast don't go on to be household names. It's a gem of a show and Hat Trick is proud to make it. Some Girls is written by Bernadette Davis (co-creator and writer of the 1990's hit Game On).
